Hon. Colonel Glenn Miller of 33Signal Regiment (Ottawa), was appointed to his position in December, 2012. A great supporter of this Signals unit prior to his appointment, Hon. Colonel Miller served as the first Chairman of 33 Signal Regiment Foundation. During his tenure as chairman, Glenn has co-chaired several fund raising initiatives for 33 Signal Regiment Foundation and their military charity events including Wolfpack (awarded Military Dutch “B” Wings) in Holland and, for the past 3 years, Executive Precision Shoot.
Glenn has been involved in several charities and extensive volunteer work. He is currently a Knight of the Order of St. George and a member of Canada Company. Glenn is a past Director on the board of the Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation and was presented the Sir Edmund Hillary Award of Excellence for his 10 years of leading fund raising in Canada for the Foundation.
In his active civilian life, Glenn is the Founder and Chairman of PenEquity Realty Corporation (1984) and has extensive experience in the financial and real estate sector including the founding of three financial institutions. Within this framework, he has provided asset management to pension funds and institutional investors in all forms of real estate development. Glenn is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and a Director of a number of Canadian companies.
Glenn’s passion for travel has taken him to many points around the world including mountain trekking in the Nepalese Khumbu, Kilimanjaro, Les Alps (l’Haute Route) and Salkantay Pass (Peru) with extensive Safari/Photographic experiences in Africa. Glenn’s adventurous spirit for sports includes extreme skiing, snowboarding, diving and the little more laid back sport of golf.
Born in Fort William (Thunder Bay), Hon. Colonel Miller has a Bachelor of Science degree from Lakehead University and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
Glenn resides in Toronto, Ontario with his wife Peggy Foster Miller of Ottawa. They have 3 sons and 2 grandchildren.
